Giraffe Adoption

Aren't  able to fit a giraffe in your car? Don't worry. Adopting a giraffe doesn't necessarily mean bringing one home.  There are many zoos and animal organizations that allow you to sponsor or "adopt" a giraffe at their facility.

Giraffe adoption usually involves the sponsor sending in a specified amount of money to the organization. In return the adoptive parent will  get a picture and additional information about their adopted animal, and possibly other benefits depending upon the specific program.  Giraffe adoptions are usually relatively inexpensive and can be purchased individually, by a group or as a gift for someone.

Adopting a giraffe can be a fun learning experience. For children, it can be an opportunity to learn about that animal in a very personal way. If a school classroom adopts a giraffe, the teacher could develop educational materials with a giraffe theme. The children could study facts about the giraffe, do giraffe puzzles, color giraffe pictures or maybe even have a giraffe stuffed animal as a class mascot for that year.

There are several organizations that offer giraffe adoptions. When choosing one, there are several factors to consider.  Although you can adopt a giraffe anywhere, adopting one at a local zoo that you can visit might be a good idea. Another consideration is the way that the particular organization will use the money...to support a specific animal or to contribute to conservation and study of giraffes in the wild.

Below is a list of some giraffe adoption programs that are available. We offer these for information only. You can find others by doing a search in your favorite search engine for giraffe adoption. You should always check out an organization thoroughly before making a contribution.
